Germany-based Lamilux has showcased its latest offerings in fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) at Busworld India 2016, an international expo for the bus and coach sector.
Lamilux is present in India for the past seven years and participating in Busworld editions this year for the second time in Bengaluru.
Talking to Automotive India News, Dr Cosima Klinger-Paul, Managing Director of Lamilux India, said, “Lamilux has more than 1000 products. We are importing from Germany and supplying to our Indian bus making customers.”
Cosima said the 107-year old company has around 800 employees worldwide and already supplying its products to many of the big names in the global bus and coach industry.
Lamilux is witnessing good demand for its products in the Indian bus market too in recent years as the manufacturing standard here has been improving on par with the international markets.
She said the composites produced on five production lines in a large scale industrial flat sheet process make highly stable, resilient and extremely light-weight construction materials, which pave the way for promising product developments and also open up new fields of application in growing global industries such as lightweight construction or caravans, commercial vehicles and buses.
She also said that Lamilux is the world’s first manufacturer of the fibre-reinforced composites to have voluntarily submitted a major portion of its laboratory and testing facilities to testing by TUV Sud Germany and to have successfully obtained certification.
Lamilux has its mega warehouse in Delhi, from where it stocks its products and supply across the country.
