Busworld Russia writes success story in its first edition

The first edition of Busworld Russia, international expo for the bus and coach sector, has surpassed the expectations of industry stakeholders, receiving overwhelming response from the exhibitors and professional visitors.

Busworld Russia, which was powered by Autotrans, has been organised from October 25-27, 2016 in the Crocus Expo in Moscow.

Busworld International and ITEMF, a member of Messe Frankfurt and ITE Group have joined their hands to organize this successful show.

As many as 51 international exhibitors from 8 countries have showcased their latest products and solutions on  the exhibition area of 4.700 square meters.

The trade fair has attracted 3.458 professionals and more than 100 media representatives.

The event became a professional platform showcasing the latest models of buses as well as components of the largest domestic and foreign manufacturers including Kamaz, Gaz Group, Nefaz, Maz, Scania, King Long, Yutong, Webasto, MAN, Continental Automotive Rus, Voith, Continental Tyres Rus, Camozzi, Raba Axle and many others.

The trade show was supported by  the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, International Road Transport Union (IRU), Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), Russian Motor Transport Union (RAS), ROSAVTOTRANS, the Association of Russian Automakers (OAR), the Moscow City Department of Multicultural Policy, Interregional Cooperation and Tourism of Moscow, the Association of European Businesses (AEB) and the Moscow City Department of Transport and Development of Road and Transportation Infrastructure.

GAZ group has showcased buses for urban and suburban transportation: the medium-sized low floor bus Gaz Kursor assembled at Likino Bus Plant and the small-sized bus Vector Next produced at its Pavlovo Bus plant along with the new model of the latter designed for school busing.


Kamaz displayed four vehicles including the electric omnibus of “second generation” Kamaz-6282 with a new interior and exterior. Kamaz also showcased the 100 percent low floor passenger city bus Nefaz 5299-40-51 powered by compressed natural gas (Euro-V), the half low floor Nefaz 52994-30-42 with the doors formula 1-2-0 and the passenger suburban coach Bravis with the Weichai engine corresponding to the Euro 5 level.

MAZ exhibited a new bus of 12 meters in length, which is expected to be used for the transportation of guests during the FIFA World Cup 2018. The bus is designed for the larger cities preparing for major events with high passenger traffic. Among them are 11 Russian cities, which are to host the World Cup in two years. The bus is fitted with the Euro 5 Mercedes engine and the ZF manual gearbox.

MAN Truck and Bus RUS demonstrated the new suburban coach Lion’s Intercity at the trade fair. It is confirmed by the ECE R66.02 certificate and the inherent system ERA-GLONASS allows Lion’s Intercity to compete successfully in its segment. MAN was also a partner to the business program of the show.

Another European commercial vehicle giant Scania showcased the items like the tourist coach Scania Touring and the intercity bus LiAZ-5251 Voyage with a Scania chassis. The latter is intended for the intercity routes in suburban and intercity transportation.

King Long displayed its popular tourist coach and the gas-powered variant of the bus XMQ6900 with the engine operating on the nonpolluting fuel, black damp.

Another Chinese manufacturer, Yutong used the show to present its intercity buses Yutong ZK6122H9 and Yutong ZK6938HB9.

Along the trade fair, the Busworld Academy and IRU congress was organised, offering an opportunity to the professionals and the representatives of the governmental bodies to exchange their thought.

Busworld International distinguished several participants with Busworld awards at the annual Commercial Vehicle of the Year ceremony.

The best debut on the exhibition was awarded to King Long, the Best Russian bus of the exhibition to the electric omnibus Kamaz-6282 and the best foreign bus to the Scania Touring. Didier Ramoudt, President of Busworld International, presented the awards to the representatives of these companies during the 16th annual award ceremony of the “Commercial Vehicle of the Year in Russia.

The next edition of Busworld Russia will be organised in the same venue, Crocus Expo, Moscow from October 23 to 25, 2018.
