Hyundai Motor India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Korean auto maker Hyundai, has first time achieved sales milestone of 5,00,537 units in 2016, witnessing a growth of 5.2 percent .
Hyundai is India’s largest car exporter and second largest manufacturer next only to Maruti Suzuki.
On Hyundai’s performance in 2016, YK Koo, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hyundai Motor India, said, “ 2016 has been an Year of Excellence for Hyundai in India achieving various milestones.”
The milestones like celebrating 20 years in India, the roll out of 7 millionth car in November, crossing 5 lakh units in domestic sales and the fastest 50,000 unit sales in the month of October are notable ones in 2016, he said.
The launch of All new Elantra and Tucson have created new benchmarks in their respective segments signifying Hyundai as a trendsetting brand in the country.
Hyundai brands have also achieved top rankings in both quality and design parameters in IQS and APEAL studies.
