Hyundai Motor India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Korean auto maker Hyundai and India’s top car exporter registered domestic market sales of 38,016 units, up by 9.3 percent from 34,780 units sold in January 2015.
The car maker’s overseas shipments for the month tumbled to 6,214 units, registering year-on-year decline of 37.9 percent from 10,003 vehicles exported in the corresponding month in the previous year.
Hyundai India’s cumulative sales for January 2016 stood at 44,230 units, down by 1.2 percent from 44,783 cars.
Commenting on the January month sales Rakesh Srivastava, Senior VP, Sales and Marketing, Hyundai Motor India, said, “Hyundai started the year with a positive note registering the domestic volume of 38,016 units with a year-on-year growth of 9.3 percent. The growth momentum of 2015 continued built by strong performance of products like Grand, Creta and i20 Elite/Active.”
Srivastava said the company is looking forward to present the Hyundai Experience at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 through its products and technology towards meeting the growing aspirations of the customers.
