P Ramadas, Managing Director, Ace Manufacturing Systems Ltd has been elected as the President of Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) and Indradev Babu, Managing Director, UCAM Private Ltd was elected as the Vice President of IMTMA.
They were elected at the Executive Committee meeting conducted following IMTMA’s 71st Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) recently. .
Ramadas graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from Karnataka Regional Engineering College, Surathkal and got his M.Tech in Machine Tools from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Madras. Later he joined Hindustan Machine Tools as a Design Engineer and developed indigenous machine tools. He was also part of the design team that developed the first NC Lathe in 1972-73 and led the development of the first CNC Grinding machine later.
He has also worked with MMC, Widia and Mysore Kirloskar before joining hands with the promoters of Ace Designers and started Ace Manufacturing Systems in 1994 to produce Machining Centres.
Indradev Babu is a Mechanical Engineer from BIET College, Davangere. He began his career at Bharat Electronics Limited and later became an entrepreneur by setting up a CNC job shop in 1986. Babu has served as the Past President of Bangalore Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Network. He has also served as the Chairman of IMTMA Regional Council (South).
