India sells 186,523 passenger cars in January 2017

India’s passenger car sales increased by 10.83 percent to 186,523 units in January 2017 as compared to 168,303 vehicles sold in January 2016.

According to the latest report released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the country also witnessed an increase in utility vehicle sales that stood at 62,264 units, up by 24.47 percent from 50,023 vehicles.

The SIAM report said the passenger van sales increased by 21.65 percent to 16,533 units from 13,591 vehicles.

Over the passenger vehicle sales surged by 14.40 percent to 265,320 units from 231,917 vehicles during the period.
