Mahindra adds novel connected vehicle tech offerings in XUV500

Indian auto giant Mahindra has added a host of innovative connected vehicle technologies, many of which are industry firsts, in its flagship SUV – XUV500.

The new features include Connected Apps, Android Auto, Ecosense & Emergency Call and many more other options to meet the evolving requirements of today’s tech savvy customer.

More than 25 features included in the vehicle are said to be the first time in the country.

Mahindra said the technology features offered by it have received good response from buyers as it can be clearly seen from higher proportion of sales of top-end variants of the XUV500 and Scorpio.

The world-class infrastructure such as Hardware-in-Loop laboratory acts as a key contributor for successful introduction of these features / technologies with reduced timeline and enhanced robustness.

Mahindra also said its technologies like Talking Car, Light-sensing headlamps, Cruise controls, Micro-hybrid (Start/Stop), Voice command technology, Stating bending headlamp, Touch-screen infotainment & navigation, XUV500 with 6 airbags & pedestrian protection, Bluesense Mobile phone app, Brake energy regeneration, Mahindra MiniSMART vehicle diagnostics App have given its products a “Best-in-class” status in their respective segments.

The company has also launched other features such as 6-way power seats, electric sun-roof, logo-projection on the floor from ORVM (outside rear-view mirror), parking lamp (Magic-eye) and tail-lamp with LED light-guide, and reverse parking assist.

Mahindra Ecosense

Taking its innovative technologies to further level, Mahindra has now developed “Ecosense”, “Connected Apps”, “E-Call” “Single Touch Lane Change” and integrated “Android Auto” in its New Age XUV500.  These newer in-vehicle features will redefine in-car experience of users and revolutionize the mobility space.

Ecosense is a first-of-its-kind technology that allows consumers to optimize their driving pattern, in a bid to witness maximum fuel economy benefit. It enables an appropriate gear shift, excessive idling and also for clutch override.

Android Auto comes with the best of in-car infotainment technology, providing a bunch of top technology features like connected services and apps on the XUV500.

In a bid to relieve customers of the hassle of reaching out for help in panic situations, Mahindra XUV500 offers the revolutionary E-Call technology.

Also, infotainment package in XUV500 now comes with an exclusive “Connected Apps” in addition to other smart phone connectivity technologies. To run these apps, the infotainment system will now have the capability to access internet via Wi-Fi hotspots.
