Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest car company, has celebrated its new milestone by selling one lakh units of its premium sedan Ciaz.
The Ciaz was first rolled out from the Indian production facility in October 2014.
The Ciaz sedan has a credit of introducing many firsts in India including SmartPlay touch-screen infotainment system and also it was the first car with smart hybrid technology (SHVS).
Ciaz diesel SHVS is the country’s most fuel efficient diesel car. Its safety features include dual airbags and ABS as an option from the base variant.
R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki said, “ Ciaz comes with a very discrete design while taking European styling for its clean, elegant and clutter-free designs. On the inside of the car it has great infotainment innovations like SHVS.
He added,”Success of Ciaz is very encouraging and it is the largest selling sedan in the A3+ segment.”
In the first five months of 2016, monthly sales of Ciaz averaged at around 5000 units. More than 18,000 cars were exported during this period to the international markets like ASEAN, SAARC , Africa, South America, Central America and Middle East.
