MG Group achieves 1-lakh mark in bus building, to launch new products at Busworld India

India’s bus building giant MG Group has achieved building bodies for one lakh buses in the past 20 years.

MG Group will celebrates its ‘20 years of Bus Building’ by launching two new products at the forthcoming Busworld India, an international bus and coach expo to be held in Bangalore from November 10-12.

MG Group will be launching the special application coach ‘Columbus’ and its Flagship Premium Luxury Coach ‘Mammoth’  at Busworld India.

Both the ‘Columbus’ and the ‘Mammoth’ are fully designed, developed and engineered by MG Group.

The coach is already being produced for International Markets after it was showcased at Busworld 2015 held in Mumbai. The company is now introducing this product at Busoworld India 2016 edition for the domestic market.

Built on the state-of-the-art MAN chassis, and certified by MAN Germany, the ‘Mammoth’ has been built with the focus of being one of the safest and most comfortable premium luxury coaches in India.

The chassis from MAN, Europe’s leading OEM Commercial Vehicle Manufacturers, is rugged and robust, catering to the Indian operating conditions with increased driving safety.

Anil M. Kamat, Managing Director, MG Group said, “We, at MG Group, are proud to be among the leading Bus Building companies in India with an annual installed capacity of 16,500 buses and have, since inception, manufactured over 8000 buses across 25 markets globally.”

At about 90,000 buses a year, he said that India is one of the biggest markets for Coach and Buses worldwide.

MG Group’s premium luxury coach ‘Mammoth’ will be introduced in both seater and sleeper variants.

With a total of eight emergency exits, the bus also comes with several safety measures including no sharp corners, seat belt for all passengers and the EM – Secure rear exit.
