
Indian bus body building giant MG Group has partnered with Scania India to design and manufacture coaches and buses for Scania India.
The announcement was made at the inauguration of Prawaas 2017 at CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Navi Mumbai.
Mikael Benje, Managing Director, Scania India said, “MG Group fits well into the Scania strategy giving us the required bandwidth, speed and flexibility for us to achieve our business objectives.”

“Through this partnership with Scania we look forward to the opportunity of building world class coaches and buses for the dynamically evolving Indian market” he further added. Production is slated to start at the beginning of 2018.
MG Group is a total solutions provider for the bus business being fully backward integrated from Mass manufacturing to Design & Engineering, composite parts manufacturing and now rapidly evolving its capabilities in the bus seating systems and bus electronics industry.
MG Group made a foray into bus building in 1996 with MG Automotives in Zaheerabad, Telangana, covering around 21,000 sq. metres with an annual installed capacity of 12,000 buses. The company employs over 1100 people and its clients includes Mahindra & Mahindra (Truck and Bus Division), Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, APSRTC, TSRTC.
