Prashanth Doreswamy new head of Continental Automotive India

Prashanth Doreswamy

German auto technology major Continental has appointed Prashanth Doreswamy as the head of its entity in India.  He succeeds Claude d’Gama Rose, who retires later this year.

Doreswamy will take over as Market Head of Continental India and Managing Director, Continental Automotive India, in the first week of October 2017.

The new head will continue to focus on driving revenue opportunities for Continental in the region and increasing its technology and product development capabilities in India.

The German technology giant that commenced operations in 2008 in India has established a strong presence in the domestic market through steady investments, localization of the value chain and betting big on technology.

At present, the company with the faces of Tier 1 automotive supplier, tire manufacturer and industrial partner operates across India with more than 7000 employees across 16 locations, including nine plants that cater to the Indian market and a Technical Center that supports global R&D.

Frank Jourdan, Member of the Executive Board of Continental AG and President of the Chassis & Safety Division, who is Country Sponsor for India, said, “We are glad to have Prashanth Doreswamy joining us to lead Continental in India. With our firm commitment to the India market since 2008, Continental has grown steadily in India and I take this opportunity to thank Claude for his leadership.”

Doreswamy, previously Country Manager & Managing Director – India & SEA, Cooper Standard India, brings over two decades of experience to his new role, across automotive and manufacturing.
