Renault India strengthens group sales worldwide

Renault India

Renault India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the French automaker Renault, has strengthened its group to achieve in sales worldwide in 2016 by setting out many sales records.

In the Indian market, Renault India kept its position as best-selling European automotive brand, with sales increasing by 145.6 percent year-on-year in 2016.

The registrations of Renault’s compact car Kwid touched 105,745 units in India in 2016.

With this, India climbed up by five places to become the group’s eighth biggest market worldwide.

Globally, Renault Group’s passenger car and light commercial vehicle sales increased by 13.3 percent in 2016 as compared to 4.6 percent for the market as a whole.

The group’s share of the world automotive market stood at 3.5 percent, up 0.3 points as against 2015.

Both Renault and Dacia brands have registered record sales. Renault keeps its position as the world’s leading French brand with Renault Samsung Motors sales rising by 38.8 percent.

In the Africa / Middle East / India region, Renault group registrations jumped by 36.4 percent, gaining a market share of 6.2 percent, up 1.7 points.
