Singapore will play host to the inaugural Asian edition of Shell’s Make the Future festival next year, featuring Shell Eco-marathon Asia. This four-day festival will take place at the Changi Exhibition Centre from March 16 – 19, 2017.
Shell Eco-marathon is a unique, global competition that challenges students to push the boundaries of energy efficiency on the road.
The fest will feature innovative ideas that address the global energy challenge – how to generate more energy, while producing less CO2.
Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2017 in Singapore will also see the introduction of the inaugural Regional Drivers’ Championship, a race format in which the best Asian teams will vie for their place in the Drivers’ World Championship in London in 2017, competing to see who is the most energy-efficient driver.
Commenting on the event, Vikash Mishra, Country Head, External Relations, Shell India, said, “We at Shell India are delighted to have received entries from some of the best engineering institutions in the country for Shell Eco-marathon, being held as part of the Make The future festival in Singapore.”
“Through Shell Eco-marathon Asia, we want to help the world meet its growing energy needs in a responsible way by working together with students, partners and other stakeholders”, said Norman Koch, General Manager, Shell Eco-marathon.
