Shell launches V-Power petrol in India
International oil major Shell launched its premium performance petrol, ‘Shell V-Power’across all its major fuel retail stations in India today.
V-Power will replace the existing Shell Super brand premium petrol available in the Shell petrol pump stations.
Launching V-Power in Bangalore today, Ravi Sundararajan, General Manager, Shell Retail India said the Shell V-Power will take the company’s business in India further ahead.
He said, “We are delighted to introduce Shell V-Power in India, which is a globally successful fuel with presence in 67 countries across the world. The Shell V-Power backed with advanced technology has been designed to improve the responsiveness of the engine in order to achieve its maximum potential.”
He said the price difference between the V-Power and normal petrol in our outlets will be around Rs 8.
Inspired by Shell’s technological innovations for Ferrari, Shell V-Power petrol has a unique double action formulation designed to actively clean the engine and protect vital engine parts to help deliver more power. Shell has a long-time technical partnership with Formula One leader Ferrari.
Shell India will currently sell Shell V-Power petrol at the company’s outlets in Bangalore, Mysore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Baroda, Surat and Pune, he added.
Mae Ascan, Senior Fuels Scientist, Shell Projects and Technology said “Shell V-Power underwent rigorous testing both at the laboratory level as well as at the race tracks, before making its entry into the commercial market. The company’s technical partnership with Ferrari has given it the opportunity to test Shell V-Power fuels in extreme conditions.”
Shell V-Power has 99 percent the similar compounds found in the Shell V-Power race fuel, which was used by Scuderia Ferrari in the FIA Formula One World Championship.
Mae Ascan has also made demonstrations on how effective is the V-Power fuel.
