TVS Motor posts 14% sales growth in April 2015

TVS Motor posts 14% sales growth in April 2015 on the back of surging demand for both its Motorcycle and Scooter brands.

TVS Motor, India’s leading two wheeler maker, recorded a 14 percent growth in sales for the month of April 2015 at 195,937 units, up from 171,897 units of two wheelers sold in the corresponding period a year ago.

The company’s total overseas shipments surged by 18 percent to 32,426 units in April 2015 from 27,493 units exported in the same month a year ago. Two wheeler exports jumped by 8 percent to 23,525 units in April 2015 from 21,760 units.

Total two wheeler sales climbed up by 13 percent to 186,041 units from 165,194 units. Of which, domestic two wheeler sales stood at 162,516 units in April 2015, up from 143,434 units sold in the corresponding period last year.

Scooters sales of TVS Motors surged by 15 percent to 49,375 units in April 2015 from 42,942 units in the same month a year ago while its Motorcycles sales shot up by 13 percent to 74,953 units from 66,460 units.

TVS Motor has registered a growth of 48 percent in three wheeler sales at 9,896 units, up from 6,703 units during the period.
