Yamaha aims 2,300 touch points in India, adds two dealerships in Bangalore

Yamaha Motor India has been expanding its network after it witnessing a strong year-on-year sales growth at 23 percent in 2014. 

Yamaha Motor India is aiming to increase its customer touch points to 2,300 by the end of this year from the current 1,300, a top official of the company said.

Inaugurating two dealerships today in Bangalore, Masaki Asano, Managing Director,  Yamaha Motor India Sales. said, “India is an important market for us and our plan is to strengthen our presence here with a very strong product line-up.

With two new dealerships in Bangalore, Asano said the company’s dealership network in Karnataka has been expanded to 28 outlets.

The company achieved a 23 growth in sales  last year despite a sluggish market condition in India. The growing demand for Yamaha two wheelers has prompted the company to target for 2,300 customer touch points in India by the end of this year, he added.

Roy Kurian, Vice-President, Yamaha Motor India said the Karnataka state is a key two-wheeler market in India. Yamaha Motor has 13 market share in the deluxe two-wheeler segment in Karnataka.

Now with 28 dealerships in the state, he said the company is focusing to consolidate its market share in 150cc deluxe two-wheeler segment.

He also said the new products ‘Saluto’ and ‘Fascino’ will create tough competition in the 125cc Motorcycle and Scooter segment.

Yamaha had recently launched its new scooter Fascino, primarily to attract youths. The company’s another new product 125cc Saluto motorcycle comes with several features including a mileage of 78 kmpl in order to woo the mass family segment.

The company’s two new dealerships with 3s facility in Bangalore – Sunil Mehta Marketing covering 5,700 sq ft is located on Tumkur Road while the another one Laxmi International is spread across 6,000 sq ft on Bannerghatta Road.

Both the showrooms will address the sales and service needs of the entire range of Yamaha Motor’s products covering motorcycle and scooter segments in India.
