India’s largest commercial vehicle maker Tata Motors signed a pact with the country’s one of the top technical institute – Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS Pilani) to roll out a special automotive engineering programme.
The vehicle maker joining hands with the technical institute is to create a platform for a series of technical education programmes to bridge skill gap in the automotive industry.
Tata Motors-BITS Pilani pact is for five years, focusing to promote engineering programmes that aims to meet raising new requirements in the automotive industry.
Speaking on the tie-up, Gajendra Chandel, Chief Human Resources Officer, Tata Motors, said, “We are working with leading Institutions to continuously develop engineering skills not only at the engineering institutes but also within the company. The Tata Motors-BITS Pilani partnership is a step in this direction
Chandel said the company’s partnership with the academic institution will also support the ‘Make in India’ programe promoted by the union government.
