
JK Tyre appoints Vivek Kamra as President of India operations while elevating Arun K Bajoria as Director and President of its international operations.
Vivek Kamra has been appointed as new President of the tyre leader JK Tyre’s Indian operations.
Kamra has been appointed as the president of domestic operations after the elevation of Arun K Bajoria as Director and President of the company’s international operations.
Backed with around 20 years of experience with the tyre maker, Bajoria will lead JK Tyre’s global operations including JK Tornel, Mexico and special strategic assignments, JK Tyre said in a statement. JK Tornel is the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary in Mexico,
On the appointment of Kamra as the company’s new Indian president, Raghupati Singhania, Chairman & MD of JK Tyre said, “I am sure that Mr Vivek Kamra will provide expert leadership and lead the company on a new growth trajectory.”
The IIT Mumbai educated Kamra joins JK Tyre with rich experience. Prior to JK Tyre assignment, Kamra served as President and Chief Executive Officer of NatSteel Holding Pte Limited and based in Singapore.
With an extensive experience of more than 25 years, Kamra is known as a veteran in leading teams across geographies.
According to tyre industry analysts those who spoke to Automotive India News, Kamra’s appointment comes at the time when the company is giving stiff competition to other tyre makers in the Indian four wheeler segment.
The tyre manufacturer has recorded a consolidated net profit of Rs 330 crore for the financial year April 2014- March 2015, posting a whopping growth of 46 percent compared to the previous financial year 2013-14. JK Tyre’s consolidated turnover for the period stood at Rs 8,060 crore.

The company has achieved a strong financial result on the back its deep penetration in the rural markets in India. Kamra is expected to chalk out plans to further widen the business activities in India, experts said
JK Tyre is present in 100 countries with nine manufacturing facilities – six in India and three production plants in Mexico. The total production capacity of the company exceeds 20 million units of tyres per annum.
