Mahindra shows its e-vehicle strength in India’s eco friendly rally – the union government promoted FAME India Eco Drive 2015
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, an automotive division of the US $ 16.9 billion multi-business conglomerate Mahindra Group, has attracted the attention of the viewers today by lining up its eco friendly Reva vehicles on the occasion of World Environment Day at national capital Delhi.
The company has shown its e-vehicle strength by participating in the union government promoted mega rally under the banner of FAME India Eco Drive 2015. Mahindra has participated in the event with more than a dozen of its electric-driven Mahindra Reva vehicles.
In association with Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and other such bodies, the union Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises has organised the FAME India Eco Drive rally. SIAM is the apex body of the Indian automotive industry. The aim of the event is to create awareness among the public about the benefits of using hybrid and electric vehicles in order to cut down carbon emission caused due to vehicles in India.
In the rally that was flagged of by Anant Geete, Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises in New Delhi today, Mahindra has participated with its top eco friendly car models like Mahindra e2o, e-Maxximo and e-Verito.
It may be noted that Fame India Eco Drive is the country’s first ever mega green vehicles rally.
Speaking on Mahindra’s participation in Fame India Eco Drive, Pravin Shah, President and Chief Executive (Automotive) of Mahindra and Mahindra said, “Mahindra is delighted to be part of the first ever mega green rally and the largest ever gathering of electric vehicles in India. We are thankful to the union government for promoting emission free mobility solutions for the future.”
With raising concern about global warming and surging costs of fossil fuel, he said this initiative is indeed a key driver for a greener and better tomorrow.
He also said the Indian government has already created a feasible environment to promote eco friendly vehicles in the country. Mahindra is committed to the Future of Mobility, he added.
